手法是指医者利用肢体某一部分,如手指、腕、肘、膝等,通过对筋肉、关节、骨骼、经络、穴位、神经、血管等运用各种规定的术式,达到对患者进行检查、诊断、治疗、康复和保健目的的一种治疗方法。手法医学就是研究手法在诊断疾病、治疗疾病、预防疾病和康复保健中的作用机制、操作方法和有关人体手法部位的解剖、生理、病理的一门医学学科。手法医学是传统医学的重要组成部分,它以治疗方法简单、治疗效果显著、治疗成本低廉、无治疗副作用和将治疗与康复、保健与抗衰老相结合为特点,在当今世界越来越重视自然疗法的今天,手法医学也越来越受到人们的重视。
